The Acre Public Defender’s Office (DPE/AC) is a finalist of the 2025 National Communication and Justice Award, promoted by the National Forum of Communication and Justice (FNCJ), with the Citizenship and Rights Collection, registered in the digital media category. Recognition occurs amid the participation of the institution in the XIX Brazilian Congress of Communication Advisors of the Justice System (Conbrascom), held from 6 to 8 August in São Luís (MA).

The collection is an initiative of the General Ombudsman of DPE/AC, coordinated by Solene Manchineri, the first indigenous woman to hold the position in a defender in Brazil. With support from the Communication Board team, the project brings together affordable and educational content on the rights of socially vulnerable populations. The first two volumes are focused on indigenous peoples, with printed and digital distribution.

With citizen language and focus on inclusion, the Citizenship and Rights Collection is consolidated as an instrument for spreading public policies and valorization of cultural diversity in Acre, a state with one of the largest proportional indigenous populations in the country. The head of the DPE/AC Communication Board, journalist Katiuscia Miranda, represented the institution at Conbrascom and highlighted the importance of recognition. “It is already a great victory to be among the finalists of the National Award for Communication and Justice, to see our Defensoria do Acre is among the largest institutions of justice in Brazil. I thank the management of DPE/AC, which has invested in communication, and this recognition is an excellent way to show results.”

Conbrascom is considered the main communication event of the Justice System and gathers, annually, professionals from all over the country. In its 19th edition, Congress addressed topics such as affordable communication, artificial intelligence, combat to capacitism, production with cell phone content, social networks, innovation and diversity, with closing led by Minister Flávio Dino and philosopher Djamila Ribeiro.

The award ceremony of the National Communication and Justice Award was held on the night of August 8 and marked the closing of the event. More than 420 projects of Justice System institutions competed in the 16 categories of the 2025 edition.
