The faith and dedication of a leader, acrean from heart, now surpass borders and reach the other side of the world. Pastor Celso Gregório de Lima, leader of the Assembly of God in Sena Madureira, is in Japan, where he participates in the International Missions Symposium. He is accompanied by his wife, missionary Lourdes Gregório, and a local entourage formed by the secretary of missions, Evangelist Jonas Rodrigues, and his wife, Patrine Alves.

The event, which takes place from 10 to 13 August, is a joint initiative of the General Convention of the Assemblies of God in Brazil (CGADB), through the National Secretariat of Missions (Senami), and the Convention of Ministers of the Assemblies of God in Japan (Comadeja).
Known for his deep love for the work, Pastor Celso Gregory is one of the speakers. Alongside renowned leaders, such as CGADB President Pastor José Wellington Costa Junior, he climbed to the pulpit to share God’s Word and the valuable experiences of his Christian journey. The symposium, with the theme “called to bear fruit among nations”, seeks to arouse the community to the importance of global evangelism.
A legacy of dedication and love for the mission
Participation in Japan is another chapter in the long and fruitful trajectory of Pastor Celso and the missionary Lourdes. With 42 years dedicated to the work of God and 38 of them at the head of the Assembly of God in Sena Madureira, they built a legacy of service and love for the Lord’s work.
This year, the couple and their team had already made an important trip to Mozambique, Africa. There, not only took the word, but also inaugurated an church and now will start an even greater project: the construction of a day care center, with a forecast for starting for 2026. The goal is to offer educational and spiritual support in a place with great social challenges.
For Celso Gregório, who loves being called missionary, the work goes beyond the pulpits of the churches. “It is a vocation that translates into love into action, in the form of projects that transform lives and bring hope to the needy,” he says.
The Symposium ends on the 13th, but the mission of the Sena Madureira entourage continues, reaffirming that the call to serve God has no borders.
