The Public Health Authority (ÚVZ) of the Slovak Republic draws attention to the unsatisfactory product, which can be located on the Slovak market. It is a 320 milliliters of colorless glass, which is decorated with flowers and leaves from the outside. The Czech importer also delivered the product to Slovakia, while the control authorities in Poland ordered its withdrawal from the market. The ÚVZ recommends consumers not to buy these products. Hygienists also advise that consumers no longer use the purchased products and possibly return them to the sale place. The ÚVZ received a warning announcement from Poland through a rapid warning system for food and feed Rasff. In cooperation with the relevant regional public health authorities, ÚVZ verifies the withdrawal of this product from the market in the Slovak Republic.

In this product, laboratory analysis was detected by lead migration and cadmium from the edge of the cup at the levels above the maximum allowed limits.
The lead migration was measured in a value of more than eight milligrams per item (the maximum limit are two milligrams) and cadmium migration of 0.99 milligrams per item (the maximum limit is 0.2 milligrams). “This finding is contrary to the EP and Council Regulation No. 1935/2004 on the materials and objects intended for food contact, which makes the Czech importer withdraw this product from the market,” added the Office.
