Italian Police releases video that shows man to set a forest fire

The Italian police revealed a video showing a 58 -year -old man causing a forest fire in Montemiletto, in the Campania region. The images, captured last Saturday by video surveillance cameras, show the suspect to stop the car by the road, get out of the car, set dry herbs in a bush area and quickly return to the vehicle to abandon the site.

Based on enrollment, the authorities were able to identify the man, who was detained a few hours later in their own home. The fire destroyed several hectares of forest, reaching about 130 olive trees from a private olive groves and affecting the districts of Sant’Eusebio and Bosco.

The detainee, who already has criminal records, will be present to court and may face a penalty of up to 15 years in prison for the crime of forest fire, one of the most serious infractions provided for in the Italian law for the protection of the environment.
