One of the top names in UFC history, Jon Jones announced his MMA retirement less than two months ago, delivering the heavyweight belt (up to 120.2kg) to British Tom Aspinall. However, the former champion seems to have missed the octagon.

Jones returned to the UFC anti -doping program, a mandatory step for those who want to fight again. According to information from Drug Free Sport International (DFSI), an institution responsible for collecting examination in the organization, the fighter has already provided three samples in 2025. The movement begins the protocol of six months of random testing required of retirement athletes, regardless of time out of combat.

It is speculated that the possible return of Jones will be aiming for the UFC at the White House, scheduled for July 2026. The event, not yet confirmed, was announced by US President Donald Trump shortly after “Bones” announced his retirement.

Despite the speculation, Dana White, president of UFC, has already stated in a press conference after UFC 318 that she prefers not to take risks with Jones fighting in an event of this magnitude.

“I can’t risk putting you into important positions in a crucial scenario and something goes wrong.” Especially the White House card, ”said Dana.
