The federal deputy Messiah donated (Republicans) filed an application in the House of Representatives requesting detailed information from the Minister of Health on recent allegations of fraud and resources from the Popular Pharmacy Program. The program, which guarantees access to essential drugs for millions of Brazilians, has been facing serious corruption problems, including the use of ghost pharmacies and the emission of fraudulent revenues.

In the document obtained by the holder of this column, Donato highlights the urgency of the situation, seeking answers to a series of crucial questions, such as:
1. Inspection measures: The deputy wants to know what actions the Ministry of Health has taken since the fraud was discovered, including possible revisions in the program’s control and audit standards.
2. Pharmacies’ disbelief: It requires information about the number of pharmacies that have been described in the last five years, detailing the reasons for each discrediting.
3. Accreditation criteria: Another point raised concerns the criteria and procedures currently used for the accreditation and supervision of pharmacies, as well as possible changes in the policies of transfers and accountability.
4. Financial losses: The deputy questions whether the ministry has official estimates on the financial losses arising from the fraud, which already reaches more than $ 40 million, according to reports.
5. Lawsuits and Accountability: Donato asks for information on the measures taken with bodies such as the Federal Police and the Public Prosecution Service to hold those involved and recover the amounts diverted.

The severity of the situation is emphasized by the deputy, who emphasizes that the Popular Pharmacy Program is vital to about 22 million Brazilians, especially those of low income. He points out that fraud not only affect public coffers, but directly compromise the health and dignity of families that depend on access to medicines.

In addition, the deputy mentions that more than 8,000 pharmacies have been described in recent years due to irregularities, highlighting the fragility of existing control mechanisms. Given such circumstances, the application seeks clear answers and concrete actions to improve inspection and ensure the integrity of the Popular Pharmacy Program.
