More than 1,000 people evacuated: forest fires in northwestern Spain

Madrid – Over 1,000 people have been evacuated in northwestern Spain due to continuing forest fires. As the local authorities announced on Sunday, the fires in the provinces of Castile and León spread further due to violent winds and high temperatures. Around 400 people were evacuated around the municipality of CarUcedo, another 700 from several towns near the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Las Médulas.
