Rabat – According to the public prosecutor’s office in Morocco, a feminist activist has been arrested for blasphemy. Feminist IBTISSAM Lachgar spread “insulting statements against God” in online services, explained the public prosecutor’s office at the court of the Moroccan capital Rabat on Sunday. Lachgar had “insulted Islamic religion”, which is why an examination “had been initiated in accordance with the law” and its arrest was ordered.
