The project provides for the use of an unprecedented pedagogical notebook, developed especially for the 5th grade classes.
“This is a material totally focused on mathematics and Portuguese, all the work thought so that our fifth grade students can increasingly improve their learning and, consequently, have better indicators every year,” said Bestene.
According to the secretary, the content was prepared by the Board of Education and the Elementary School Management, coordinated by Professor Helio and participation of the director of the Chico Mendes School, who obtained Acre’s largest Ideb in 2023, with a grade 8.4.
“This notebook is unprecedented and can be used by other municipalities, serving as a reference to improve results,” he added.
Rio Branco is currently the country’s second capital in the IDEB ranking for the 5th grade, with a grade 6.4, behind only Goiânia, which recorded 6.5.
“We are the second best capital in the country, with a difference from just a tenth to first place. This year we will seek to overtake these indicators,” said Bestene.
The secretary also stated that the proposal will be expanded to all the early grades of elementary school.
“We will work from the first to the fifth year, so that students are more prepared and with reinforced learning. It is a goal of the management of Mayor Tião Bocalom to invest in quality education, with technology, innovation and materials,” he said.
The manager of the Department of Elementary School, Hélio Sebastião da Silva, stressed that the action goes beyond the numbers.

“Ideb is not just a number. When we talk about IDEB, we are not just based on the end result, but on quality learning. This project comes to advance several actions within schools, helping teachers and units improve the indices and ensuring better teaching for our children. Rio Branco has 6.4 IDEB, the second capital with the highest index in the country, and we always seek improvement in the sense of quality for our students,” he said.
Mayor Tião Bocalom stressed that advances in municipal education result from a set of actions since the beginning of his management.

“Our concern was, first, to put children from 0 to 2 years in day care centers. We also invested heavily in the early grades, we gave the Israeli program in the Israeli program and won the first -place prize in Brazil. We deployed internet in all schools, delivered tablets for children and notebooks to teachers. More recently, we made a big investment in robotics. The same robots used by children in children Germany are being used in Rio Branco classrooms, and few Brazilian cities have acquired this program, ”he said.
Bocalom highlighted the work of the Secretary of Education. “Alysson has been a warrior, a partner. He has already shown as secretary of health who is a good manager and today is doing the same at the Department of Education, dedicating himself every day to improve the quality of education in our city,” he concluded.
During the event, children from the public school in the Acrean capital presented the city’s anthem in choir.
