Two Japanese boxers died following brain injuries suffered in fighting at the same event in Tokyo, revealed on Sunday The Japanese Boxing Commission.

Kotari lost his senses shortly after the end of the combat and passed away six days later, following a “subdural bruise”, while Urakawa, who saw the referee stop the eighth round duel, “succumbed to the wounds” this Saturday.
“It is the first time in Japan that two boxers underwent brain surgery due to injuries to the same event,” the Japanese Boxe Commission Secretary Tsuyoshi Yasukochi reacted.
