Azul informed on Monday (11) that it ended operations in 14 Brazilian cities between January and March this year, just before entering, in May, in the process of “Chapter 11”-equivalent to judicial recovery in the United States. The number exceeds the 13 municipalities mentioned in an investor report in early August.
Among the cities that lost flights are Campos (RJ), Mossoró (RN), Três Lagoas (MS) and Ponta Grossa (PR) (full list below).
More than 50 adjusted routes
At the same time, the company has been reviewing more than 50 routes with 17 percentage points below the middle margin. Changes include frequency reduction or even definitive suspension, affecting regional and medium -course connections.

According to Azul, the cuts consider factors such as:
• High in aviation operating costs, aggravated by the valorization of the dollar;
• Impacts in the global supply chain, which affect aircraft availability;
• Internal restructuring in the context of Chapter 11.
The company states that all affected passengers were assisted, according to Anac’s rules.
Azul was the last of the three main Brazilian airlines to resort to the US mechanism after Latam and Gol. The goal is to renegotiate debt and preserve operations. The expectation is to complete the process by the end of 2025.
