Croatian firefighters are still struggling with a fire that broke out on Monday east of Split on Monday night. The fire near the village of Jesenice has not yet been completely located, but it is controlled by its course and does not pose an immediate threat. Strong winds on Monday morning caused fire to extend the fire to approximately three -kilometer section, while in several places the flames even approached the houses. Thanks to firefighters, however, they managed to protect them, reports Hina. However, the flames damaged more than 250 hectares of mostly pine forest.
During the last night, more than 120 firefighters with 37 fire extinguishers intervened in the area. They extinguished smaller outbreaks along the edges of the burning point, but they did not pose a threat. Such work should continue during Tuesday to completely destroy the fire.
