Diogo Costa lived a moment of great excitement on Monday night, after FC Porto’s victory over Vitória SC 3-0, on the first round of I Liga. In the midst of Flash Interview of Sport TV, Captain Portista did not contain the tears as he remembered Jorge Costa, former captain and club leader, who died a week ago.
Visibly thrilled and in an embargoed voice, Diogo Costa dedicated victory to his historic player: “We wanted to honor Jorge a lot… I want to send a big hug to Jorge’s whole family. To all friends, a very strong hug and a lot of meaning from the whole team. Today the goal was to make Jorge proud. Just like me, Jorge and the supporters were proud.
The goalkeeper performed in the interview with a nightgown by Jorge Costa, on a night marked by several honors at the Dragon Stadium. The former captain and leader died suddenly after feeling bad at the FC Porto Training Center in Olival.
