Approximately 50 people inhaling smoke were treated in nearby medical facilities. According to the Governor, their condition was not life -threatening.

The authorities also started preventive evacuation of some sites, including the University Center, Military and Residential areas. They called on the residents to limit travel and release roads for emergency services.

In total, four forest fires are currently recorded in Turkey, two of them in the province of Canakkale. The fire in the same region broke out last week. Firefighters managed to get under control on Friday.
