On weekends, I like to bake something that requires neither complicated ingredients or a long standing in the kitchen. I recently found a dessert that caught my attention – Recipe for a cake with cherries for coffee. In fact, it’s a well -known French dessert with a beautiful name clafoutis (read Klafuti). It does not need to be mixed, it does not require the perfect arrangement of fruit, and it looks like it looks like a confectioner. Cherries are great with a delicate, slightly egg mass, which after baking resembles a combination of pudding and a fluffy sponge cake. This cake is so wonderfully simple that everyone can handle it.
Clafoutis is a classic French dessertwhich has something homemade in it, although it comes from an elegant kitchen. It is made of a very simple cake based on eggs, milk, sugar, flour and a little butter, which is poured into the fruit arranged in the dish. The whole goes to the oven and after several dozen minutes a wonderfully fragrant baking is created.
It is most often prepared with cherries, but cherries, apples, raspberries, blueberries, plums and even peaches will also work. It tastes best in the summer when the fruit is fresh, juicy and full of taste – then the mass during baking gently soak them with juice, becoming even more aromatic.
The dessert does not need many decorations. Enough sprinkle with powdered sugarand already looks appetizing. The whole comes out light as fluff – a bit like a pudding baked in dough or sweet omelette. You can eat it both when it has not completely cooled and cold. I admit that it appears with me all summer, because it arises instantly and always comes out.
I love this dessert for its lightness and for how wonderful it smells during baking. The mass is fluffy, creamy, slightly vanilla, and cherries add pleasant acidity. A simple cherry cake is a baking that You can prepare in about 10 minutes. Just mix the ingredients together, pour the fruit and put the form in the oven. In my opinion, the cake is perfect for Sunday breakfast, afternoon coffee or a summer picnic with friends.
Interestingly, Clafoutis can be done all year round. Not only fresh, but also frozen cherries are suitable for it. It’s a dessert that You can give guests straight in the baking dishin which it went to the oven. I like serve them with a branch of vanilla ice cream or a blot of whipped cream. Then it tastes like the best cafe.
