It should have been a turbo for the expansion and conversion of the electricity system in Austria, but could mutate into a brake block: the long overdue electricity market law, also known as an electricity management law or ELWG. This is not only afraid of Austria’s energy, the interests of the state energy supplier and network, but also in the wind power, small hydropower, photovoltaic and wood proponents organized in the umbrella organizable Energy Austria (EEÖ). Projects that have already started would still be processed, there are hardly any new projects and in autumn initial bankruptcies threatened if there is no steering, among others, Hans-Christian Kirchmeier from IG Holzkraft fears.
