It has announced the implementation of a new check seal for all users of its platform in Brazil, aiming to improve safety during races. This seal will be displayed in the passenger profile in the application and will be visible to drivers before they accept the travel request. With this news, the company expects users to wait less time for a driver. Brazil becomes the second country to adopt this verification, which adds to other features already available, such as the validation of accounts through credit card and the CPF verification. The new verification will cross information provided in the register with reliable sources data. While some users will automatically receive the seal, others will need to send a selfie and a photo of an identity document.

Uber ensures that all documents sent by users will be kept safe and used exclusively for this purpose. When a verified passenger requests a race, drivers will only have access to the first user name, the evaluation, the check seal and the travel information. Araceli Almeida, responsible for Uber’s security operations in Brazil, emphasized that this update reflects the company’s commitment to the protection of its users. The platform already has several security tools, such as audio and video recording, u-code and the ability to block users. In addition, Uber applies Machine Learning technology to detect and prevent trips that can be considered risky.
