United States Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared on his social networks a video in which Christian pastors argue that women should not be entitled to vote.
The content reproduces a report from CNN whose main interview is conservative evangelical theologian Doug Wilson, co -founder of the communion of the reformed evangelical churches (CREC).
In the material, Pastor Toby Sumpter states that the vote should be “in family”, led by the maintaining man. “Usually, I would be the only one to vote, but I would vote after discussing the issue with my family,” he said. A woman linked to the same movement said she supported that only her husband vote, claiming submission.

Wilson also argues that women do not occupy leadership positions in the Armed Forces or command positions in their church, “because the Bible says so.” He has already participated in an event in Brazil canceled after criticism of his book that relativizes slavery and is accused of covering up cases of sexual and domestic violence in his congregation.
The episode takes place amid the Republican government’s agenda for the promotion of Christian nationalism. Trump created at the beginning of his term a “Cabinet of Faith” to investigate alleged “anti -Christian prejudice” in federal agencies.
In line with the strategy, Hegseth invited his personal pastor, Brooks Potteiger, to make cults within the Pentagon during the hours.
