In the summer it may happen that the dog overheats without the breeder too much. The animal is at risk of great health problems, some even endanger his life. Although we want to help our four -legged friend as quickly as possible, we must not behave rash, it could get back.
Although instant intervention is important in the case of overheating the dog, it is necessary to realize what definitely – but in any way – we must not do. The right first aid can save the dog’s life, while unfortunately the steps can lead to the opposite, but at least to damage the function of some organs.

Cool yes but right
Let’s imagine it: we find that the dog is overheated, lies, barely snaps. It would seem that it should be cool as quickly as possible, and it would be useful as cold as possible. But stop! This is one of the worst mistakes we could make. There would be a very rapid withdrawal of blood vessels in the skin and subcutaneous tissue, which would result in the opposite of our goal.
There would be a thermal shock, the heat could not flow out of the animal body, and the dog would have to fight for a bare life. Therefore, at such moments, use lukewarm water, just like a small baby. A good contribution to the faster cooling of the body is the released fan. But do not aim it directly and close to the dog, it will be better if only the peripheral part of the breeze flows to it.

Just cool parts of the body, not the whole
Another fundamental mistake is the immersion or spill of the whole animal. Even such a flat intervention can cause unnecessarily large instant shock, although we would not use ice water directly. Cramps, respiratory and circulatory problems could be word. Therefore, to start the dog wrap the paws in a cold (but not icy) wet towel and often replace the tilesas soon as he warms up. Initially it can be several times per minute. You can also pour your paws with lukewarm water, it will be even more efficient.
Serve water only when it is safe
Another subconscious effort to help the dog is. This is, of course, right, just to correctly estimate its condition. If it vomits or even falls unconscious, the water may be inhaled and the animal would suffocate, or we would bring him pneumonia. But as soon as the water is interested in the water, it must be available.
Do not leave the dog for a minute
We must not leave the overheated dog unattended. Although it may not seem too difficult, his body is very likely to fight for his future. Therefore, the IS wet tiles should be loaded into the car and head to the nearest veterinarian surgery.
Do not postpone the visit of the vet
This is another point from the category: Never! Never postpone a veterinarian visit in this case. How to tell that it is time to go? The overheated dog will breathe quickly when they breathe in, the saliva, probably will also be lethargic, so it will not respond too much. Another feature is bright red gums, diarrhea, or vomiting, in the worst cases the loss of consciousness. But we will not leave that far.
Never leave such a dog in the sun
It goes without saying that all the tasks we will try to help the dog before we arrive in the office will happen in the shade. This is also one of the rules that every breeder should follow – ie allow the dog on a hot day stay in the deepest shadow. Be sure to avoid lunch walks (even to nature, about the road around the hot asphalt, or to leave the dog in the car in front of the shop “just for a second” we will not have fun at all.
Don’t want to move
Do not require greater physical activity and more prone breeds, old animals, or puppies, if possible, take it to a cooler room if possible. Is there a lot? Actually, it is not just logical steps that we should take (or not) intuitively. At critical moments, however, sometimes reason is simply less oriented.
