The defense of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) asked the Federal Supreme Court (STF) permission to leave house arrest next Saturday (16) to perform medical examinations. The request was filed on Tuesday (12) and will be analyzed by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of investigations that investigate the participation of the former president in the 2022 coup plot.
According to lawyers, Bolsonaro needs to undergo a battery of procedures to reevaluate reflux symptoms and refractory sobs. The displacement to the clinic would have an estimated duration of 6 to 8 hours, a period required for blood and urine collection, endoscopy and tomography, as recommended by the medical team accompanying the former president.
“The request stems from the follow -up of drug treatment underway, the need to reevaluate the symptoms (…) as well as the verification of the current health conditions of the petitioning,” said the lawyers in the petition.

House arrest
Since Moraes understood that he has failed restrictions imposed by the Supreme Court. The Court had banned the former president from maintaining directly or indirect contact, with others investigated in surveys about the attempted coup d’état.
The minister stated that Bolsonaro used social networks of allies, including his three parliamentary children, to publicize messages with “clear encouragement and instigation content to attacks on the Federal Supreme Court” and support for “foreign intervention in the Brazilian judiciary.” For Moraes, the conduct represented deliberately the restrictions imposed.
