A different crime in Jumbo: They stole thousands of cans and bottles… empty

Jumbo Supermarket in the Netherlands

The store is usually quiet, nor is it security. Some people saw the theft but no one launched the alert.

When there is a theft num supermarket, Usually the thieves carry money, drinks, food. Or all together.

This time the crime was different: Two men stole thousands of cans and bottles… empty.

It happened in Cuijk, in the Netherlands. Two men went to Jumbo to steal six large bags, all full of cans and empty bottles.

The thieves appear in the images of the surveillance chambers, quietly, catching such six bags and getting them in the car. They needed three car trips to take everything. From the first to the third load, about 30 minutes have passed.

E No one reacted. Neither employees (who didn’t even realize) nor the people who passed by.

At that moment no one was even controlling the images of the cameras. Also because that store is quiet: “Usually no such thing happens; we don’t need security like big cities supermarkets,” the store owner Joppe Bosmans tells.

Regarding passersby, there was an acquaintance of Joppe Bosmans who called him. But the owner had already finished his shift, was running and Neither had the mobile phone. He only saw the calls when he returned home – too late.

After seeing the images, he lamented: “We see that there are people around. Someone is expected to say something!”

A Police should not be able to do anything: Registration is unreadable. It can only be seen that it is a foreign registration, apparently Bulgara.

The owner estimates that he has lost about 1,000 euros in deposits. “I have no hope of seeing this money again. And that’s a shame, because we worked enough to get it.”

After seeing the images of the crime on the internet, some comments question why it was so much money in deposit outside the store: “We have a small warehouse. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always fit there. So we put it abroad, but we always build it with bars and containers so that it is not very visible,” explains owner Joppe Bosmans.

From now on, Joppe does not predict changes where he leaves the cans and empty bottles. But guarantees: “If they come back, I’ll make sure they get them back”.
