Under judicial recovery after an accounting scandal, retailer reduces losses both in relation to the beginning of the year and compared to the same period of 2024
It announced it on Tuesday (12.ago.2025) that had a net loss of R $ 98 million in the 1st quarter, from April to June. This is a 94.7% drop from the same period of 2024, when it lost R $ 1.85 billion. The result also represents a reduction in relation to the 1st quarter, from January to March, when the loss was almost $ 500 million.
The company is in judicial recovery to remedy R $ 50 billion in debt. The recovery was approved in December 2023, the year when a billionaire accounting scandal surfaced involving its operations. In April 2025, the MPF (Federal Prosecutor) reported 13 former executives and employees on charges of fraud.
Adjusted EBITDA (profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) totaled R $ 329 million in the 2nd quarter of 2025, up 1,216% compared to R $ 25 million from the same period of 2024. Net revenue grew 24.7%, reaching R $ 3.84 billion from April to June. Sales in physical stores rose 11.8%, with 1,521 active units in late June.
Gross debt totaled R $ 1.9 billion, being R $ 1.8 billion in debentures and R $ 54 million in loans and financing. The company ended the quarter with R $ 103 million in cash.
