The (Supreme Federal Court) case about it on Wednesday (13) its last step before the judgment of the former president () and seven other defendants accused of.

The defenses have until the end of the day to deliver the – a procedure in which the accused gather all the information that was taken to the process to defend their innocences.

The advancement of criminal action against Bolsonaro occurs in a moment of pressure against the Supreme.

The government of, led by, applied sanctions against court ministers and ordered a surcharge for Brazilian products being willing to reverse the crisis only by filing the lawsuit against Bolsonaro, his political ally.

The minister, however, says he will not even consider Trump’s pressures. “It will ignore the sanctions applied. This rapporteur will ignore the sanctions that were applied and continue working as it has been doing, always in a collegiate way,” he said during the reopening of the judiciary’s work.

Bolsonaro and other defendants’ defenses should not cite in their final allegations the crisis established with the US offensive against the Supreme Court, according to three lawyers consulted by Sheet.

The perception between the defenses is that the matter generates even more wear to the defendants, as the Supreme is united against attacks on national sovereignty and the independence of the judiciary. The strategy, therefore, is to stick to the file.

With the end of the deadline for final allegations, the lawsuit against Bolsonaro enters his decisive moment. Moraes will now prepare his report, with the details of each phase of the criminal action, and his vote, with the analysis of the evidence gathered in the case against each of the defendants.

When you have the material ready, the rapporteur must request a date on the Supreme Agenda for the trial. The inclusion on the agenda is up to the president of the first class, Minister Cristiano Zanin.

The expectation in the Supreme is that the trial will take place in September.

Defendants’ lawyers believe that Minister Luiz Fux can ask for views (more time for analysis) of the process. For the regimental period, the minister would have up to 90 days to return the case to trial.

Fux interlocutors told the SheetHowever, that the minister has no intention of interrupting the trial. They stress that Fux was one of the few who participated in all phases of the process.

The climate in the Supreme is apprehended with the possibility of the Government Donald Trump to broaden the financial sanctions of the magnitsky law against ministers and their families.

There is a perception in the Supreme Court that the measures should be applied against the wife of Moraes, lawyer Viviane Barci, owner of the family law firm. Ministers Gilmar Mendes and Luís Roberto Barroso are also in the sights of the United States pockets.

Supreme ministers have attended meetings with bank representatives in the last two weeks to learn about the actual impact of the magnitsky law in Brazil. The initial information is that only international transactions in dollars are blocked.

The process about the coup plot was accelerated in the Supreme. Moraes acted at the limit of the deadlines established by the law, advancing between the stages of the criminal action without leaving time breaches between each phase.

The minister denies, however, who has given a different pace to the process of the attempted coup d’état compared to other criminal actions of his rapporteur. He says the speed is the same as other lawsuits, such as those convicted of participation in the January 8 attacks.

The central core of the coup plot is made up of Jair Bolsonaro, former Navy commander Almir Garnier, former Justice Minister Anderson Torres, former GSI chief Augusto Heleno, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, as well as former Defense Minister Sérgio Nogueira and former head of the Walter Braga Netto. Federal Deputy Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ) is also part of the group, but the lawsuit against him was paralyzed by determination of the Chamber.

They are accused of crimes of armed criminal organization, attempted violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup, damage qualified by violence and serious threat against public assets and deterioration of listed heritage. Added, maximum penalties may exceed 40 years in prison.
