Brazilian beef exports hit record in July

Despite US tariff, shipments advanced 27.4% in the annual comparison, reaching 366,920 tons

Total exports of beef in Brazil broke a record of 366,920 tons in July, up 27.4% exceeding 288,014 tons in the same month as 2024 and 7.4% above the previous record of 341,555 tons.

Revenue reached US $ 1.726 billion, 48.4% higher in the annual comparison. The data are from (Secretariat of Foreign Trade), (Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services), and were compiled by (Brazilian Association of Refrigerators).

The survey considers different types of beef products intended for the foreign market, such as fresh meats, processed meats, edible porch, among others.

Annual accumulated

  • January to July 2024: 1,728,454 tons and US $ 6.983 billion
  • January to July 2025: 2,055,273 tons (+19%) and US $ 9.170 billion (+31.3%).

Main Markets

China

Brazil’s largest client in the beef market continues to have significant growth in purchases.

  • Volume: increased by 14.6%, from 689,840 tons in 2024 to 790,337 tons in 2025;
  • Revenue: growth of 33.7%, reaching US $ 4.082 billion, compared to US $ 3.052 billion in the same period of the previous year;

Currently, China accounts for 44.5% of Brazil’s total revenue with beef and 38.5% of the exported volume.

USA

The US country follows in 2nd position among the largest importers, with sales of US $ 1.468 billion and 484 thousand tons boarded, participating with 23.6% of the volume and 16% of revenues from January to July 2025.

However, sales have been falling after April 2025, when they reached the $ 306 million record. Last July, it was $ 183 million.

A is not among the products that entered and began to suffer an additional rate of 40%, from August 1, 2025, reaching a total rate of 76.4% to enter the US market (in extraquote sales).

From the announcement of the new fare on July 9, some industries suspended production for the US due to the impact that the new rate would have on business.

Chile

The country was the 3rd largest buyer. The country raised its acquisitions from 57,241 tons in 2024 to 68,804 tons (+20.2%) in accumulated until July 2025, with revenue rising from US $ 271 million last year to US $ 372.9 million (+37.6%) this year.

Mexico

Mexico started to occupy the 4th position from 22,892 tons imported in 2024 to 67,766 tons in 2025 (+ 196%), and providing a boundary entry of US $ 364.79 million (+ 249.2%) against US $ 104.5 million until July last year.

In total, 124 countries increased their imports while 48 reduced their purchases.
