The most recent case happened in Australia: Pablo was inside a washing machine… During a full cycle. It was practically an hour inside. Around, leading with cold water for 3,000 revs without the outside air.
It had lung and brain lesions, then continuously intensive care for seven days.
Was in critical condition, but survived. By the way, now there are only light injuries on a paw and tail. A rare case. A “girl-cat”.
In 2021, a Brazilian teenager was in a direct on the internet. Then he remembered to put the cat inside the clothing machine; and turned on the machine. The cat turned a few times, along with the clothes-with the teenager’s friends laughing (they were also visible in the direct). This cat also survived.
Further behind, in 2016, another cat was also inside a washing machine in operation. It was “only” 2 minutes – and survived.
However, such a carelessness is almost always fatal. Especially if the animal is inside during a complete cycle.
If a cat is inside a washing machine, the dangers are very and very serious:
Choke – The closed machine can prevent sufficient air from entry, leading the cat to be without oxygen.
Serious physical lesions – Movement can cause serious injuries such as broken bones, internal trauma, cuts and bruises.
Electric shock – Although rare, there is a risk of shock if the cat damages internal parts or if there is any defect in the machine.
Stress and panic “Here, even without the machine being on, the cat arrested can panic, which can lead to injuries when trying to escape, as well as breathing problems.
Hypothermia or hyperthermia – Depending on the environment and duration, the cat may be dangerous variations in body temperature.
