Founder of the Open Society Foundations, the Hungarian billionaire is known for his philanthropic work
Hungarian-American businessman George Soros, founder of OPEN SOCIETY FOUNDATIONS, turned 95 on Tuesday (12.ago.2025). His son, Alex Soros, posted a photo next to the billionaire.
Soros created the OSF network, which operates in several countries promoting initiatives linked to democracy and human rights. He also founded RF (Renaissance Foundation), an organization that integrates its global philanthropic projects.
Right groups often question the philanthropic activities of soros and their influence on different nations. Soros intended a significant part of his fortune for social causes through his foundations.
In May 2023, when he was 92 years old, Soros used his X profile for his death circulating on social networks. At the time, he said he was “Live and Healthy”.
In the United Kingdom, the businessman became known as “The man who broke the Central Bank in 1992”. The businessman, along with other speculators, borrowed pounds and sold them, causing a drop in the amount of the currency. The maneuver forced the British government to abandon a European monetary system that had been created to avoid large currency fluctuations.
