Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and businessman Paulo Figueiredo participate, on Wednesday (13), meetings in Washington with members of the government of Donald Trump to discuss the political situation in Brazil and the possibility of new sanctions against Brazilian authorities. The investigation is from UOL.
The agenda occurs on the same day that the US government, Fernando Haddad (PT), canceled by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
Eduardo and Figueiredo prepared reports to present to the US government, gathering information about the Federal Supreme Court and the National Congress, including the positions of the Presidents of Legislative Houses and Ministers of the Court.

The duo argues that the House of Representatives vote for the amnesty bill to those involved in the acts of January 8 and that the Senate will open impeachment process against Minister Alexandre de Moraes. None of the two guidelines advanced in the legislature.
Among the highlighted points is, decreed after the imposition of the magnitsky law against Moraes.
New targets
The report discusses the need for the US Treasury to detail the scope of the sanction, given the controversy over bank blockages: whether the restriction would only be valid for international transactions or also for internal operations carried out by banks linked to the US financial system.

The magnitsky law is applied against great human rights violators and rarely generated debates as broad as in the Brazilian case.
The possibility of extending the sanction to Viviane Barci, wife of Moraes, is under review in the US government. The argument is that, acting in the US and being married to the minister, she could financially support her family.
In the list of potential targets for the coming months would be ministers Luís Roberto Barroso and Gilmar Mendes, both with properties abroad. Under risk of blockages, they could press Moraes in processes related to acts of 8 January. Barroso’s son, for example, chose not to return to the US after the measure against Moraes.

In March, it had been anticipated that, in addition to Moraes, other STF ministers and their families were on Eduardo Bolsonaro’s radar to receive sanctions via magnitsky.
Figueiredo, a former partner of Trump in a venture in Rio de Janeiro, has acted as an access facilitator for Washington offices.
Among the duo’s main interlocutors are Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Allies of Trump, such as Jason Miller and Steve Bannon.
