Estonia reported a Russian diplomat for an effort to decompose society. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs described a step as an enemy act with a planned counter -Atthating.
Estonia expelled the Russian diplomat for “ongoing interference” in Estonian affairs, the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday. TASR reports, according to AFP reports, Estonian public service telephony ERR.
According to ERR, the Estonian Ministry of Diplomacy summoned Russian chargé d’Ffaires to give him a diplomatic note on the declaration of the first secretary of the employee corps of the Russian embassy as an unwanted person. The Ministry did not appoint a diplomat to which this decision is concerned.
“The diplomat concerned was directly and actively involved in undermining the constitutional order and the legal system of Estonia, as well as in the distribution of an Estonian society, contributing to the crime against the state, including several crimes related to sanctions violations,” said Margus Tiahnak, head of Estonian diplomacy.
Expulsion is a demonstrative step
The Estonian Foreign Minister claims that one Estonia citizen is currently charged for the actions.
“The ongoing interference of the Russian embassy in the internal affairs of the Republic of Estonia must end,” Tion said. He added that by excluding the Russian diplomat Estonia demonstrates that it would not allow any shares organized by a foreign state in its territory.
The Russian Foreign Ministry described Estonia’s step as an enemy act and said Moscow would react, Reuters reports. DPA recalls that Estonia borders on Russia and lives a large Russian -speaking minority. The tension between neighboring states escalated after Russian troops attacked Ukraine in 2022. Estonia has been a supporter of Kiev since the beginning of this war. The Estonian Foreign Ministry summoned Russian chargé d’Ffaires last month and last year Tallinn excluded the Russian diplomat.
