He emphasized the need to test this idea, noting that the block is a positive milestone for Brazil.

According to Lula, the union of the interests of the global southern nations is fundamental, since the BRICS represent about half of the world’s population and a third of Global GDP. In his speech, Lula addressed the issue of dollar dependence on international transactions. “We can’t depend on the dollar, which is a single country coin, which was assumed as the world’s coin,” he said. “The dollar is an important currency, but we can argue in the BRICS, the need for a trade coin between us,” he added.
