The President (PT) dismissed the Special Secretary for Legal Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic, Marcos Rogério de Souza. According to petista assistants, the dismissal was already being discussed about 15 days ago and was sacrament on Tuesday (12).
One version that runs among interlocutors of Marcos Rogério is that he would have sent a nomination for publication in the DOU (Official Gazette) without the president having authorized. This name, from an EBC (Brazilian Communication Company) director, was sent for publication amid a list of diplomats.
The list of nominees for the EBC was prepared for the president’s assessment on the same day of the definition of diplomats. But they would only be defined by Lula the next day. He was reportedly reprimanded by the Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa. The appointment of the EBC member was maintained, despite the error.
Former Senate PT advisor, Marcos Rogério is politically associated with the petista bench of the legislature in force during the impeachment process of Dilma Rousseff, including Minister Gleisi Hoffmann (Institutional Relations).
Its presence in the courts of Brasilia has also been pointed out as one of the sources of complaints within the Planalto Palace. Officially, the Civil House states that dismissal was on request.
For his place, lawyer Marcelo Weick Pogliese, former deputy of the portfolio and today special advisor to Petrobras was announced. He is expected to take office on Monday (18), when Marcos Rogério will leave the folder.
SAJ (Special Secretariat for Legal Affairs) is a strategic post in the Planalto Palace, and its holder is often a high confidence person from the President of the Republic and usually dispatches daily with the boss. One of its functions is to legally analyze the legislative proposals prepared by the federal government.
