Place it in place after cucumbers. You will have large yields without sterilizing the soil

Many gardeners think about what vegetables to plant after cucumbers to make good use of the place in the vegetable garden and protect plants against diseases and pests. We present the most important rules for changing vegetables. Thanks to them you will get large crops without sterilizing the soil.

It gets poorer through the soil, because they need a large amount of nutrients to fruit abundantly. Therefore, plants fertilizing the ground with organic matter are the best stroke for these vegetables. I am talking about mustard, blue fecelia, alfalfa and clover. We treat them like a green fertilizer.

After cucumbers, we can also plant vegetables with a short vegetation period, i.e. Asparagus beans, cobblestones, dill, lettuce, spinach, radish, kohlrabi.

In the following year, after growing cucumbers in crop rotation, we choose less demanding vegetables and those that can draw nutrients from deeper layers of soil. So we plant garlic, onion, lettuce, beetroot, kohlrabi, root parsley, Brussels cabbage.

In the third year, we recommend planting legumes. They fertilize the ground in nitrogen and contribute to improving its structure.

Cucumbers should not be planted after cucumbers, because the soil sterilize then. In addition, there is a greater likelihood of developing diseases and pest attack. Therefore, they spend weaker and worse quality crops.

That is why cucumbers can only be planted after cucumbers after 3-4 years. Also, do not choose plants from the same family, in this case pumpkin vegetables, i.e. pumpkin, squash, zucchini, melon, coffee.

We have already presented a cucumber chain, now it’s time for their forecrop. The ideal choice are vegetables with a short vegetation period with small thermal requirements. So let’s plant dill, lettuce, radish, turnip or autumn spinach, which we will collect in spring.

We can also plant plants with low food requirements, which deeply root and improve the soil structure. I am talking about carrots, parsley, beets.

As we mentioned, cucumbers need to be abundant to the fertile soil. Therefore, we recommend the previously mentioned plants for green fertilizer.
