CCJ approved 14 names for courts; Portinho questioned USP’s master’s masters of lawyer in the lawyer’s curriculum

During the Senate Constitution and Justice Committee) there was a change of barbs between the lawyer, nominated by the President (PT) to the (Superior Military Court), and the Senator (PL-RJ).

Portinho questioned inconsistencies in Sterman’s academic formation and that “SUBMIT THAT HAS MASTER” by USP (University of São Paulo) would be disqualifying. In response to the statements, the deputy said that “Control what is said on sites.” “What I put in my resume is the expression of truth”declared.

Portinho pointed out that while the lawyer’s professional profile on digital platforms and official communications presents it as a master’s degree in criminal procedural law, the document delivered to senators indicates “Without completion with the defense thesis.”

“It’s conflicting information”said Portinho during the Sabbath. “What is said is that you have a master’s degree, you have no master’s degree, you are not even a master’s student. […] This does not disqualify you at all, I don’t have it either. But what disqualifies is to maintain that it has a master’s degree ”said the senator.

The lawyer replied that she interrupted the course and that this is in her curriculum. She explained that she consulted her advisor on how to present this information. “It was oriented that I put it that way. I don’t have LinkedIn, I don’t control what is written there”stated Sterman.

During the sabbath, Sterman explained the personal reasons for the interruption of the master’s degree. He said it was a difficult time when he faced a risk pregnancy and his father was hospitalized with cancer.

Government senators came out in defense of the lawyer. The president of the CCJ, R (PSD-BA), criticized the approach of Portinho’s questioning: “I already did [esses questionamentos] to an STJ candidate and one to the STF, but would not do in public, especially for a woman ”he said.

The senator (MDB-AL) also expressed support for the nominee. “We all know that the constitutional requirements to occupy the position, to be approved in Sabbath, do not require proof of securities“, These.

“This is not common. I have been here for 4 mandates. I have never seen an interpellation, especially for a woman, as unfortunately Senator Portinho did it,” declared Calheiros.
