The mayor of Rio Branco, councilman Joabe Lira, said on Wednesday (13) that the recent reduction of 50% in the fees charged from the companies installed at the furniture hub of the capital, sanctioned by the Rio Branco City Hall, will ensure the maintenance of more than 1,000 jobs.

According to Lira, the measure, articulated by the city, was discussed with the sector entrepreneurs, who ensured that the benefit will avoid layoffs and preserve local production.

“Mayor Tião Bocalom was sensitive to this cause. With this decrease, we talked to the entrepreneurs and they said that it will be possible to maintain more than a thousand jobs. This moves our economy and directly benefits the acrean population, especially the marceners who work at the pole,” he said.

The discount will be valid for all traders and manufacturers who have facilities within the furniture pole. To obtain the benefit, entrepreneurs must file an application with the City Hall.

For the mayor, actions such as this strengthen the economy and guarantee stability for strategic sectors. “These are projects that make a difference to the city and those who live on their work,” he concluded.
