Commentator José Eduardo Cardozo and the businessman and former federal deputy Alexis Fonteyne discussed, on Tuesday (12), in The Great Debate (Monday to Friday, at 11pm), if Brazil misses or gets it right as it approaches China.
After one, the spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, said he supports the defense of Brazilian sovereignty.
Cardozo understands that Brazil hits the approach.
“It is evident that, as Donald Trump applies sanctions, I have to sell to other countries, I have to approach other countries. And what is the country that, at this moment, began to smile with Donald Trump’s troops? China is one of them,” he said.
“We can sell many things to China. These entrepreneurs who will suffer can have their products sold to China and other countries. Lula has to look for multilateralism,” he said.
For Fonteyne, Lula misses when he approaches China.
“China reaffirms the sovereignty of Brazil, but let’s remember that Lula himself, when he was with Xi Jinping, asked to send an emissary to learn to censor social networks here in Brazil. Is this sovereignty? Is it asking a communist country to come here?”
“Lula is all the time saying that he is a defender of democracy, but when he goes out to talk to someone, he talks to the president of a communist country. […] Why do we align with countries that are not democratic? ”He continued.
