The president of the National Congress, Senator Davi Alcolumbre (Brazil-AP), announced on Wednesday (13) that the CPMI (Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) will be installed next week to investigate the fraud in the INSS (National Institute of Social Security).
The commission, with the application of the application at the joint session of the congress, had not yet been called. Now, it will have 15 deputies and 15 senators, with distribution proportional to the countertops and an extra vacancy for the minority, in a rotation system, totaling 32 holders.
The president will be Senator Omar Aziz (PSD -A), while the rapporteur will still be defined on the day of the installation.

CPMI motivation
The commission was designed by the opposition to deepen the investigation into undue discount schemes and fraud in the payment of INSS benefits, pointed out as responsible for.
Since April, the Federal Police launched operation “without discount”, which served 211 warrants in 13 states and the Federal District – including the removal of the then president of the INSS – and recovered about $ 1 billion in values and goods.

The first phase of the work must include the summons of authorities and technicians to provide clarification on the INSS fraud scheme. Among the expected names is Pension Minister Wolney Queiroz, who has already expressed willingness to testify to the commission, stating that “it would be an honor” to explain the measures adopted to contain the irregularities.
Another planned point is the collection of documentation and the request of data with control and investigation bodies, such as the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) and the Federal Police. CPMI is expected to analyze contracts, processes of granting benefits and discount records, aiming to size the damage and identify those responsible for billionaire deviations.
