Burning man of wasps detained by forest fire in Cambra Valley

Suspect of 72 years was arrested in the act on Wednesday for the crime of forest fire in the municipality of Vale de Cambra.

The GNR stopped a 72-year-old man suspected of having set a forest fire when he was burning a wasp nest in Vale de Cambra, in the Aveiro district, that security force said Thursday.

In a statement, the GNR clarified that the suspect was arrested in the act on Wednesday for the crime of forest fire in the municipality of Vale de Cambra.

“Following an alert to the occurrence of a forest fire focus, the guard military immediately moved to the scene, where they found that the Vale de Cambra volunteer firefighters were making the flames extinction,” says the same note.

In the course of police due diligence, the custody said, it was possible to identify and intercep the suspect as long as it burned a wasp nest nearby, having been immediately detained.

GNR also states that the detainee will be present this Thursday, at the Judicial Court of Vale de Cambra, for the application of coercion measures.
