More than 100 dead in recent weeks alone, number doubles each month. There is no easy access to drug treatment.

Pulmonologist Filipe Froes – who coordinated the Crisis Office of the Order of Doctors for the Pandemic – has done accounts and noticed that, since March this year, the Number of Deaths related to covid-19 is doubled every month that passes.
Therefore, it is necessary to change the attitude, have other priorities: “We need to have proactive attitudes and one of these most important attitudes – and that has already been adopted by different countries – is the wastewater screening“.
But there are “other important things to do,” continued the expert: “To study Who are these people who died with Covid. We need to know age, risk factors and vaccination state. ”
“Another situation that seems essential to me is that, at this moment, the vaccination Anti-COVID is not yet in the context of the prescription, ”he adds.
At this point, only people who are encompassed in the rules of the Directorate-General of Health can be vaccinated. But there are “many other patients who want to be vaccinated, who have other risk factors and are not vaccinated.”
And then there is the problem of access to treatment: “Treatment with anti-viral drugs is not easily accessible either and should also be of free prescription.”
Still about vaccination, Filipe Froes leaves some questions: “Is it starting vaccination in September is the best option for these people? Either we should be delayed, or advance in October? And we should not promote the prescription of vaccination? And, above all, to encourage investigation to develop longer protection vaccines?”
