*UPDATE MATTER
Flamengo coach, Filipe Luís admitted the team’s second half drop in the 1-0 win over Internacional on Wednesday (13), for the round of 16 Libertadores round. In a news conference after the duel at Maracanã, the coach stated that “technical and individual errors” made the team lose control of the match.
– Well, the first excellent time. We did a big first half, the game plan worked perfectly, we had a lot of volume, created a lot of chances to score, and unfortunately, or fortunately, we just scored a goal. We went with one advantage, and (the team) did not come back different, returned the same, with the same formation, Inter returned different. But it is true that today, I believe it was a lot of technical, individual errors, who took us dominion and control, made our team run, we had difficulty going out in these transitions, the team got more spaced, we could not leave. Each time we recovered the ball, we were extremely vertical, we didn’t have that patience, we couldn’t even assemble our right structure. In the end, it turned out that the team broke, and somehow, we could not find and organize within what was the beginning of the second half and it dragged it to the end – said Filipe.
– On the other hand, we also had chances in the second half of scoring goals, even without the same volume. We had moments of possession, sporadic, but it is true that we fell a lot on our level. Also due to the result, perhaps, this is what has been happening, this fall in the second half, is always when the team has a favorable result, but Inter also did not create chances, and we had more clear chances of goal. We took a small advantage for the return, but it is nothing defined, it is totally open-added the red-black commander.
