The Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources () reported on Wednesday (13) what was defined for the week of 24 August a “window of realization” of the reliability tests of Petrobras plan in the licensing process of Block Fza-M-59. The officialization of the schedule was being awaited after yesterday meeting with the company.
The Senate President, and Senator Randolfe Rodrigues, both by Amapá, advanced on Tuesday (12) an agreement to perform the tests on the 24th. The so-called Pre-Operational Assessment (APO) will be made for the Individual Emergency Plan Exequability Test presented by Petrobras for maritime research activity.
The expected duration for APO is three to four days and may vary, according to the conditions of execution of the planned activities. During APO, the effectiveness of the proposed individual emergency plan will be verified through simulations.
“These simulations will test, in practice, the ability to respond in case of accidents with oil spill, including the efficiency of equipment, agility in response, compliance with the anticipated fauna care times and communication with stakeholders and stakeholders,” Ibama said in a statement.
The FZA-M-59 block is located in deep water. In practice, practical exercises will be performed to verify the reliability and ability of Petrobras to act ready in case of emergency. The bases of Oiapoque (AP) and Belém (PA) were inspected in July. The reports are in the elaboration phase by the technical team.
Within the government, the perspective on the Environmental Licensing of Block FZA-M-59, on the equatorial margin, is positive, with the possibility of IBAMA response later this year, in the evaluation of federal government sources that defend the project.
