Former President Jair Bolsonaro denied having committed crimes and asks to be acquitted in the process he is responsible for attempting a coup on final allegations sent by his defense on Wednesday to the Supreme Court (STF).

“On the merits, an accusation prevails as absurd as alternative,” Bolsonaro’s lawyers criticized, in reference to the complaint made by PGR.

In the document, the former president’s defense advocates his acquittal for “absolute absence of evidence” and also asks that the award-winning denunciation of his former mauro cid-joint is considered null and worthless that there was allegedly willingness, selections and ambiguities in collaboration.
The denunciation signed by Cid served as another element to prove the crimes that the former president practiced, support the Attorney General’s Office and the Federal Police.
The defense claimed that there was no proven act of leadership from the former president in an attempt to overthrow the Lula administration on January 8, 2023 not even his involvement with the scammer drafts that predicted Bolsonaro maintenance in power, even after losing the election to the petista in October 2022.

“The narrative about the decree was,” complained the defense. “Just like the one who puts him, totally contradictory, as responsible for the plan that provided for death of authorities of the Republic and also for those who followed Minister Alexandre de Moraes, with the intention of killing him.”
“In addition to all this, it would also be responsible for the acts of January 8, even if the first ‘coup plan’ was not consummated because most military personnel did not support him,” he added.
