The president (PT) said on Wednesday (13) that Brazil is, “in many things, much more” democratic than the. “This is a bad example for humanity. For many decades, the US has tried to present itself as the most democratic country and more opportunities. And now it has this inexplicable and totally unacceptable behavior,” he said. “We even forgive them (USA) for involvement in the 1964 coup,” he added. The speeches were days at the opening of the 4th National Conference on Popular and Solidarity Economy (Conaes), Lula pointed out that US President Donald Trump was being tried in Brazil if the invasion of the capitol had occurred here.

The Brazilian president stated that Trump’s decision to revoke the visas of ministers do not match the attitude of a US president. In addition, the petista stressed that Brazil has signaled to the world available to negotiate, but does not find interlocutors for the dialogue. He pointed out that the federal government will continue with the policy of involvement of society and public policies, emphasizing that it will not allow the return of “junk”, in reference to former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), mentioned in Trump’s letter, to the country’s command.

“They presented a report saying that we do not respect human rights because we are chasing the former president. And that the Supreme Court minister who is judging is a dictator. It is not possible that he does not know our constitution,” Lula continued. “These things that make me amazed. We need to live in peacetime. He is trying to destroy multilateralism.”
