Shows gathers creations incorporated into the collection through donations of artists, galleries, individuals and anonymous donors
The (São Paulo Museum of Art of Assis Chateaubriand) will exhibit, from August 22 to October 26, the Transformation Collection Show: Recent Donations, which has 28 works incorporated into the collection in the context of the 60th Biennale di Venezia, which took place last year. The exhibition is curated by Adriano Pedrosa, artistic director of MASP, Regina Teixeira de Barros, curator of the MASP collection, and Matheus de Andrade, curatorial assistant of the museum.
The show brings together works incorporated into the collection through donations of artists, galleries, individuals and anonymous donors. Among the works that will be exhibited, 25 were in the Italian show and three others are from artists who joined Biennale with similar works.
Acervo Em Transformação: Doações Recens Conta com Obras Dos Artistas Andrés Curruchich, Antonio José Guzmán & Iva Jankovic, Aydeé Rodríguez López, Dean Samezima, Dean Sameln Taocheng, Kang Seung Lee, Kiluanji Kia Henda, Liz Collins, Omar Mismar, Paula Nicho, River Claure, Rosa Elena Curruchichi, Sabelo Mlangeni, Salman Toor, Shalman Toor, SHALM KUFAKWATENZI, Taylor Nokomo, Victor fotso, Violeta Quispe e Xiyadie.
“Biennale’s thematic choice is reflected in the artists present at the show, recent donations and the museum programming. The works received highlight how artistic programming also guides the acquisition criteria, bringing together a multiplicity of voices and themes, in line with the commitment of MASP as a diverse, inclusive and plural museum,” says Matheus de Andrade.
