The State Prosecutor’s Office denounced and called for the custody of three women who donated and stole two English tourists, victims of the popular coup called “Good Night, Cinderella” in the early hours of last Thursday, 7, in Rio de Janeiro. The defenses were not located. Amanda Couto Deloca, Mayara Ketelyn Américo da Silva and Raiane Campos de Oliveira were reported on Wednesday, 13, for theft with improper violence, theft qualified by electronic fraud and criminal association. “The complaint also requested the custody of the three, given the history of similar crimes and the risk of new offenses,” said the MPRJ.
According to the complaint offered by the 1st Prosecutor’s Office of Territorial Criminal Investigation Center and Port Zone, after attending an event in the Lapa region, tourists Mihailo Petrovic and Diego Bravo met the women and spent the rest of the night with them. Already in the early hours of Thursday, the five went to Ipanema. On the way, inside an app car, they offered caipirinhas to the English, who drank. The drinks were tampered with a substance capable of causing drowsiness and disorientation. In the complaint, the Public Prosecution Service of the State of Rio de Janeiro also requested that the accused compensate each victim at R $ 30,000 for material and moral damages.
How they stole the English
As soon as the drink left them disoriented, women took their cell phones (an iPhone 14 and an iPhone 16) and tried to move investments through applications. According to police, the victims reported that the trio even tried to transfer 20,000 pounds ($ 150,000) of their accounts, but failed. They spent 2,000 pounds of the victims – 300 pounds invested in bitcoins and 1,700 in other products.
The case drew attention after the release of a video made by a witness, who captured the moment when women entered a taxi after committing the crime, as well as showing the victims of tourists affected by the coup. Confirmation of the route by the taxi driver and the formal recognition of the authors by the victims strengthened the evidence against the three women. The case was registered at the Tourist Service Police Station (Deat).
