Minister of Health says that 60% of the adult Brazilian population does not use condoms in sex

According to the Ministry of Health, the distribution of new models seeks to increase adherence to condom use, especially among young people, in the prevention of ISTs (sexually transmitted infections).

The use of condoms among young people in the 9th grade of elementary school that have already started sex life from 72.5% to 59% from 2009 to 2019, a drop of 13.5%. The data were released by the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) on 13.Jul.2022. Among girls, the index fell from 69.1% to 53.5%. Among boys, from 74.1% to 62.8%.
