Former English and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney responded to Tom Brady’s statements, who put in doubt his work ethics during his brief period as Birmingham City coach. In an interview in Wayne Rooney Show Podcast, the former player classified criticism as “very unfair.”
Brady, NFL legend and minority co -owner of Birmingham since August 2023, said in the Amazon Prime documentary Built In Birmingham: Brady & The Blues who was “a little worried” about Rooney’s dedication to the function.
Rooney, 39, led the team for less than three months, being fired in January last year after a sequence without wins that left the club near the relegation zone.
“Tom came once, just on the eve of a game – days when the work is naturally lighter – and I think he doesn’t understand football very well“Rooney said.” What he understands, and we all know, is that he is a great worker. But football is not NFL – In three months of season. Players need rest as well. So, I think he was very unfair in the way he portrayed me”.
Despite the disagreement, Rooney praised former Super Bowl champion, seven times. “I have enormous respect for. It’s one of the greatest, if not the greatest, athletes of all time. And Birmingham seems to be right now, which is great. I think they made the necessary changes in the cast.”
