It can already be stated that tomorrow night is attracting Ukrainians to social networks and television screens. Although the whole world will look towards the remote Alaska, they are primarily who asks a persistent question – they decide on us without us?
There are significantly more questions before the expected US President Donald Trump and Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin.
Will Trump and Putin agree on the fronts? Or an air or sea ceasefire? Or will Kiev push into the exchange of territory? Or to the election arrangement? Will the Ukrainian president also appear in Alaska? And what if Trump and Putin do not agree on anything? What will it actually mean?
Aktuality.sk asked those who concern the most – people who live in Prifront cities, those who had to leave them, and those who defend them.
“I do not expect anything productively. Putin is pulling time and it seems to me that once again trying to wrap around the thumb of the self -free trump,” says Kramator journalist Dmytro Hluško.
The war is not something distant for him – the front is currently located 17 kilometers from his city. Kramatorsk was the aim of the Russian hybrid war against Ukraine as early as 2014, when the city occupied the so -called. separatists. After their Ukrainian army pushed them out of Kramatorsko, the city experienced a boom of 150,000 people before the war. Since 2022, however, it has become the destination of Russian missile attacks and today there is a risk that the Russians will fight to his gates. It would be a disaster for the central city of the area. He would be threatened with the fate of nearby Bachmut or Treck, which turned the fight into ruins.
“If we look at the negotiating positions, Ukraine is today in a totally bad and weak position. It is not only the guilt of the Allies, but also the Ukraine itself, which has spoiled everything that could go wrong,” he also addresses criticism to the ranks of his own haluko. “No one has been preparing for anything, there are many holes in the defense, few people on the front. Forced mobilization destroyed the motivation to go to defend the country,” he adds.
At the same time, however, it will be strongly pointed out that he refuses “buzz” that Ukraine should give up, for example, the Donetsk region in exchange for the occupied part of the Charson and Zaporožská region – there have been speculation that Vladimir Putin had such a condition for consent to the guess.
“People, and what if we exchanged Kiev for all occupied territories? What are they talking about exchanges? It means people have died for anything? And what we, people who live here? As if they have already thrown us overboard. The fact that the fighting parties will be given time to relax, ”thinks Hluško.
According to a journalist, the Russian army will not stop until they hit the hard barrier of the Ukrainian. “Our army would have to do something similar that (in 2022) during the Chark Operation. But taking into account how many troops are now Russians centered in the occupied territories, this is completely unrealistic,” he recalled.
Violated rules
Publicist Anna Murlykin had to leave the Donetsk area in February 2022. More precisely, she had to escape from her native Mariupol. Today he lives in Kiev as thousands of other resettlers from the region, where the war has erased from the surface of the Earth’s ten villages and towns in three years.
“When I read or follow messages in recent days, I ask myself: What do students of diplomatic schools around the world are learning now? What terminology are the leadership of the country that is a world leader is entangled in elementary terms and ignores international law as such,” does not hide the journalist.
Indeed, when Donald Trump talks about the exchange of territories between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, as if he forgot that the exchange of territories is under international law – recalls a journalist – only when one country passes part of its territory and the other country does the same for economic or geographical benefits.
“Without war, murder, pressure. Without any violence. In our case, the president of the most powerful country in the world forces Ukraine to replace part of its territories for other territories, temporarily occupied, but its own.
What does a native of Mariupol expect from the meeting of Trump and Putin? As she pointed out – that the strong will hit the weaker again.
“It is easy and safe to hit the weaker. And push on the bigger and stronger is scary. Therefore, I do not expect anything good since meeting Alaska. Strong will use the strong right to humiliate the weaker. The rules destroyed will be dangerous everywhere, ”warns the journalist.
A box is burned from the house
The speech therapist Nadija Hordijuková lost her home -. It was also she who helped to return the city in the Donetsk region of its unusual, but historical name. The former Novhorodske could subsequently boast a sign at the entrance to the city, which took pictures of soldiers, journalists or travelers who wandered into this corner of the Donetsk region.
Since the end of the 18th century, the German settlers have also inhabited to World War II. In Niju-Jorka they built mills powered by steam, racing for the production of agricultural machines, built workshops, grown sets. However, what the locals wanted to show tourists, however, was ashes. The city totally destroyed the fighting.
“February 2022 forced me to leave my home, my family first arrived in the Lviv region. I have been living in Bulgaria since summer 2022 because my daughter has found cheaper housing here than in Ukraine. In sixty years it is very difficult to start from scratch.
“The box is destroyed from my house, the holes are burned instead of the windows,” he says sadly.
He has a clear view of the upcoming negotiations in Alaska – in the civilized world there are no negotiations with criminals, and the Russian president by the definition of the international community is.
“By organizing these negotiations, Trump actually legalizes a terrorist and criminal who is involved in the genocide of the inhabitants of the Ukraine and especially the Donetsk region, because many of my compatriots died during the Russian occupation of the city. All residents lost houses, property and health. pupils, ”describes the pedagogue, reminiscent of how Moscow scored in words to protect the“ people of Donbas ”.
At the same time, those on his Ukrainian side bring the greatest victim in the war.
His Russian peace
Of course, the report on negotiations in Alaska also got into Ukrainian trenches.
A soldier of the armed forces of Ukraine Oleksandr, who is now fighting on the Donetsk section of the front, points out that he and his colleagues in the unit look at them rather skeptically.
“Russia explains peace negotiations very in its own way. It has already been showing the practice of Minsk’s talks. Before similar negotiations, they just strengthen the attacks and send everything they have at the Front. And this is happening where I am now, Donbas. We see how the Russians long for peace, ”he commented.
When asked how he perceives the media reports that Ukraine could replace the Donetsko area for another Ukrainian territory, for example, he answered austere and suggesting that it would not just do so. “We made too much effort and poured a lot of blood …” Oleksandr.
At the same time, he pointed out that the Russian army could use this area as a stepping stone for future operations.
“I don’t know what would prevent another Russian attack after they reached him. What is important – we can’t leave the people who live here,” adds the Ukrainian soldier.
