From August 22 to 31, Lagoa again assumed as the epicenter of economic activities in the south of the country, receiving the 44th edition of the Craft, Tourism, Agriculture, Commerce and Industry Fair (Fatacil). The event, organized by the municipality of Lagoa, has the co -organization of the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission, IP (CCDR Algarve), in the agriculture and fisheries sector.
According to the CCDR Algarve, “this year, the Space Amar a new configuration is gaining in a single place all the valences that were previously distributed throughout the venue. This reorganization reinforces the presence of agriculture, rural development and fisheries, in the framework of CCDR Algarve in Fatacil, promoting more cohesive, integrated and dynamic participation”.
Amar the Earth will be, according to CCDR Algarve, “an excellence showcase of agriculture, endogenous products and regional commerce”, bringing together about 25 exhibitors of the agri -food sector, with products that combine “quality and tradition with creativity and innovation, contributing to the competitiveness of the Algarve brand”.
Daily programming, at 19:00, includes presentations and demonstrations of innovative products in the region, especially brands that bet on “differentiation and sustainability”. Among the emblematic moments are showcookings and wine events, such as the presentation of cooperative sparkling and Algarve wines by Confagri (August 23), Docapersca showcookings (August 22 and 30), Huelva’s wine proof for Vimar (August 28) and Wine Presentation by the Algarve Vitivinemal Commission (August 28).
Another attraction will be the exhibition of animals, with more than 70 specimens of native races, including the Algarve Churra Sheep, the Algarve Goat and the Algarve cow. On August 23, the 30th National Sheep Churra National Contest, promoted by ASCAL. Already on August 24 will take place the contest of the Mel do Algarve, promoted by Melgarbe, in a sector that CCDR highlights as “relevant and great growth potential”, currently with more than 91,000 registered hives.
On August 28, at 4:30 pm, the São José Convent receives the “Agriculture – a strategic asset for the Algarve” conference, with the first public presentation of the “Study of the Economic Impact of Agriculture in the Algarve region”, prepared by EY consultant. This is followed by a lecture by Carlos Marques, a full professor, and a round table with representatives of organizations such as CAP, CNA, Confagri, Ajap and Fedagri. The meeting will be attended by the Secretary of State for Agriculture, João Moura.
For CCDR Algarve, its “active and structuring presence in FATACIL translates into a clear bet on the reinforcement of knowledge, the valorization of local products and knowledge, regional endogenous products and promoting qualified dialogue between the various economic, technical and institutional agents, contributing to more cohesive, sustainable and innovative development of the territory”.
