Macron and Zelenski plan to meet after the Putin and Trump meeting
The French president, Emmanuel Macron, and that of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, plan to meet in person after the crucial summit that will maintain this Friday in Alaska the leaders of the United States and Russia, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
“The President of the Republic held yesterday [jueves] And today [viernes] New conversations with President Zelinski. They agreed to meet at the most appropriate and efficient moment, that is, after the Alaska meeting and depending on the agenda, ”sources from Elysium have reported, without giving more details.
Neither Zelenski nor European representatives will be part of the conversations in Alaska, in which Trump’s goal is to achieve a high fire, although it is not very likely. On Wednesday, however, the allies of Ukraine maintained a series of preparatory videoconferences, both among them and with the US government, in which Zelenski participated from Berlin to give an image of unity.
In them, the position that territorial assignments without Ukraine sitting at the negotiating table and that peace must be obtained with future security guarantees for the invaded country should not be discussed with Russia. Trump, as Macron himself subsequently transmitted to the press, shared those positions. (EFE)
