State Representative Carlos Giannazi (PSOL-SP) presented to the São Paulo Legislative Assembly (Alesp) an appointment to Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) to remove the name of Ultrafarma from Health Station, on line 1-blue from the subway.
The request was made after the owner of the pharmaceutical network, last Tuesday (12), during Operation Icarus, of the São Paulo Public Prosecutor (MPSP).
The lawsuit investigates one involving tax auditors of the Treasury Department, accused of favoring retail companies in exchange for improper advantages.

In justification, Giannazi states that “a company with such a history of damage to the public purse cannot continue to benefit from a public service for publicity and brand dissemination”. He also requested the revocation of Naming Rights’ contract to the subway direction.
“It is absurd that the name of a company involved in a very serious corruption scandal gives a subway station, of a line that is even privatized,” the parliamentarian told the parliamentarian to CNN.
The São Paulo subway adopted the practice of Naming Rights a few years ago, allowing companies to add their marks to the name of stations.

In addition to Ultrafarma, other companies, such as Assaí and Besni, sponsor, respectively, the Carrão and Penha stations, on the 3-Red line. According to the state -owned company, the concession includes the renewal of visual communication and improvements in the orientation of passengers.
