KIEV (Reuters)-Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Friday that Russia continued to attack Ukraine before a dome in Alaska between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, but that attempted to “show strength” with an east attack had failed.
“On negotiations, they also kill people. And that says a lot,” Zelenskiy said in the Telegram messaging app.
“The war continues. It is still precisely because there is no order, nor any indication that Moscow is preparing to end this war,” he added.

Earlier, Ukrainian regional authorities said Russia had launched a ballistic missile in the Dnipropetrovsk region in eastern Ukraine, killing one person and injuring at least another, while a drone damaged civil infrastructure and caused a fire in the northeastern region of the country.
The city of Dnipro is a logistics center for the Ukrainian forces, and the regions of Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy border the combat zone and are regularly bombarded by the Russian forces.
Ukraine said this week that small Russian infantry groups advanced about 10 kilometers toward the main defensive line near the city of Dobropillia in the east of the country, increasing fears of a larger advance that would further threaten important cities.

However, the authorities said on Thursday that Ukrainian troops managed to stabilize the battlefield in the area.
Commenting on the matter on Friday, Zelenskiy said: “The Russian intention was to show strength before Alaska, but in fact, to the occupants, this is ending with their destruction.”
